Last Friday, 12 August 2011, the junior boys Rugby League team played in the PSSA Grand Final. Last week the boys beat Campsie 28-16 to make the Grand Final. Our opponent was the undefeated Punchbowl who had already beaten us twice this season. The boys brought a great attitude to the game and were rewarded with a 6-6 half-time score line. Punchbowl scored after half-time to make the score 12-6. But the boys hung in there and with 5 minutes remaining scored to level the scores at 12 all and to ensure that the game would be a heart stopper. With one minute remaining little Zac scored from dummy half to give McCallums Hill the lead and the Grand Final victory!
Adam ran the ball as hard as Paul Gallen, Mohammed led the team like Jonathon Thurston and Luke made as many tackles as Nathen Hindmarsh. Every single player did their job and I am very proud of them.
Congratulations boys!
